A beach bachelorette party is great for obvious reasons. Depending on your destination of choice, you'll find swaying palm trees, fresh fare, vibrant nightlife, pool parties and live music. A beach bachelorette weekend is a no-brainer for those who simply want to enjoy a fun-filled vacation by the sea.

With beach towns across the US and the Caribbean, narrowing down the best bachelorette party destination for your bridal party can be daunting. That's where this guide comes in. Below, we've compiled information on nine of the best beach bachelorette party locations across the US and Mexico. That way, you can plan one of life's most memorable getaways and focus on enjoying your piña colada by the sea.

San Diego, California

Among the many coastal towns dotting the California coast, San Diego is our top choice for bachelorette getaways. With 70 miles of coastline and a vibrant urban scene at your disposal, there's much to do during your celebration.

First, you'll need to find lodging. Turn to this Airbnb, which is close to fast food spots and restaurants; plus, it comes with a hot tub. There's also the oceanfront Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, Bahia Resort Hotel, Paradise Point and a slew of other hotels, resorts and rentals. Let the fun begin with a booze cruise on the San Diego Bay with Mai Tai Yacht Charters. For alcohol-free fun on and off the water, book a San Diego SEAL Tour to see the city, seals and sea lions. If you're traveling with a group of foodies, reserve a table at Nine-Ten, a Michelin-awarded restaurant and bar. If tacos and mezcal are more your thing, dine indoors or outside at Tahona. When the sun goes down and you're ready to party, head to Gaslamp Quarter, a walkable neighborhood where you'll find 180-plus restaurants, 50 bars and 10 nightclubs.

Montauk, New York

The ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City aren't the only New Yorkers to escape to the Hamptons for a getaway. Follow along with your best friends for a stellar celebratory beach bachelorette party in Montauk, a hamlet found at the end of Long Island. A popular summer retreat for New Yorkers, East Coasters and travelers from all over the country, Montauk offers prime beaches and bars for a fun and memorable getaway.

The Montauk Beach House is one option for your bachelorette party (but there are some guidelines to follow). Others include the luxurious Gurney's Montauk, Ocean Surf Resort and Hero Beach Club. During your stay, get out on the water on a catamaran with Sailing Montauk or take a cocktail-filled sunset cruise with Viking Fleet. If your group wants a slice of true MTK, The Surf Lodge should be on your must-visit list. (Expect long lines wherever you go, especially during peak season.)

Miami, Florida

Miami may seem like an obvious choice for a beach bachelorette, but that doesn't mean it's overrated. Miami boasts warm temperatures year-round, so you can escape here for a weekend getaway at any time. The Miami Visitors Bureau notes it rains almost daily throughout the summer, but typically only for about 10 minutes. It's important to remember that Miami and Miami Beach are separate municipalities, but are close enough for you to travel between spots.

If your group is all about a good party, Miami has tons of options: clubbing at the popular LIV Nightclub, brunching during a drag show, embarking on a pedal tour, or cruising on a party boat. Airbnb is also loaded with luxury rental options in and around Miami Beach. Your group might otherwise prefer one of Miami's many hotels or resorts. We recommend the party-friendly Fontainebleau or the SLS to be at the epicenter of the action. For a more relaxed getaway, consider the sustainability-focused 1 Hotel South Beach, the artsy Faena Miami Beach or a luxurious retreat at The Standard.

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston County has five beach towns—Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Sullivan's Island, Island of Palms and Seabrook Island. Downtown Charleston is beloved for its history, culinary scene, architecture, nightlife and more. And with the coast close by, you can have it all during your bach party: a beach for relaxation, walkable streets for exploration, delicious restaurants and plenty of inventive cocktails.

On your beach days, take a quick Uber to Folly Beach, where the team at Folly Beach Chair Company can arrange everything from beach towels to cornhole boards for you and your besties. If you want to get on the water instead, take a private boat tour with Carolina Marine Group. (They book everything from classy historical tours to super-fun booze cruises.) On Charleston's King Street, celebrate at Republic Garden & Lounge. During the day, sit in the garden and enjoy live music; at night, book a VIP table in the lounge with bottle service and a DJ. There are plenty of options for a stay in Charleston, but we can't get over this adorably chic pink pad on Airbnb and the numerous boutique hotels dotting the city.

Waikiki or Ka'anapali Beach, Hawaii

A Hawaiian bachelorette party can be a dream come true for beach-adoring brides and their bridesmaids. Waikiki, located on Honolulu's south shore of Oahu, is home to many hotels, resorts, restaurants and stunning beaches. If you want your bachelorette party to feel like a getaway to paradise, this is the place. You can stay at a breathtaking hotel close to the water, like the Prince Waikiki, and spend your days relaxing in poolside cabanas. There's also the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which boasts a five-acre saltwater lagoon, a spa, several pools, hula lessons, luaus, daily exercise classes and lei making.

If you'd prefer something more luxurious and wellness-oriented for your getaway, consider the convenience and beauty of Ka'anapali Beach on the western shore of Maui. The resort area offers a convenient shuttle to and from the airport, plenty of shopping, sightseeing options and numerous group-friendly properties. We recommend the Westin Maui Resort & Spa or the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. Other fun and authentic activities for your group to take advantage of include group surf lessons, whale watching cruises from December to April and hiking tours along Waikiki or portions of Maui. Last but not least: U.S. News recommends mid-April to early June or September to mid-December as the best times to visit Hawaii.

Cancún, Mexico

If you're looking for an international bachelorette getaway, you'll have no trouble planning the ultimate, all-inclusive event in Cancún. Plan your stay at party-friendly properties like the Hard Rock Cancun or Secrets The Vine Cancun. You'll have everything you need at your fingertips, including an open bar, unlimited food and shopping.

If you're so inclined to leave your resort, safely book a "last sail before the veil" on a private catamaran with Cancun Sailing. The Caribbean Sea experience includes an open bar, snorkeling and snacks. You'll run into a sea of bridal party T-shirts over at the popular Señor Frogs (simply avoid the Spring Break period) or throw on those bachelorette party dresses for an evening at Coco Bongo. For a true-to-Mexico excursion, take a Riviera Maya cenote tour with AquaWorld. The experience includes access to three cenotes, a bicycle tour, snacks, snorkels and access to lockers and showers.

Outer Banks, North Carolina

The Outer Banks in North Carolina is an ideal beach bachelorette party destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle, rather than heading into it. Along more than 100 miles of coastline, you'll find adorable villages and towns, the tallest brick lighthouse in America, soaring waterfront rentals, golf courses, spas, wellness centers, restaurants and more.

If gathering your maid of honor, bridesmaids and best friends for a relaxing weekend along the East Coast sounds like it's up your alley, OBX could be your ideal destination. Find your perfect rental on Airbnb and VRBO or through a local company like Sun Realty. If you're traveling during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), we recommend searching for a home rental, so you can hang, relax and decompress poolside. If your group plans to keep things casual, visit Sun Dogs Raw Bar & Grill for food, drinks and live music. Other popular restaurants and bars include Miller's Seafood and Steakhouse, Miller's Waterfront and FishHeads Bar & Grill. For an in-home experience, book a seafood boil with the Outer Banks Boil Company.

Ocean City, Maryland

Ocean City, Maryland, is a popular 10-mile beach town along the Mid-Atlantic Coast that offers a thriving nightlife scene in the summer. Perfect for any party-hopping bachelorette, Ocean City has the beach, an expansive boardwalk and bars in nearby Dewey and beyond. Like many other beach towns, you'll come across plenty of rental homes and condominiums for your group on sites like Airbnb, VRBO and via realty companies. There's also Ocean City's Princess Royale Oceanfront Resort. The property is located one block from the beach and is home to the Creative Day Spa.

When it comes to partying, Ocean City is the place to be. On the bay, Fager's Island Bar and Restaurant refers to itself as the area's bachelorette party headquarters. On Saturdays after 10 pm (and every evening from Memorial Day to Labor Day), you're able to swing by with your besties without a reservation. The bride's cover is free, bachelorette party favors are handed out to each group, and the spot even offers party games. One of the most famous Ocean City spots is Seacrets, where you can dine and drink directly along the bay. It's a party for all visitors—especially bachelorette parties.

Siesta Key, Florida

MTV is credited with putting Siesta Key on the radar of many millennial and Gen Z reality TV enthusiasts. Siesta Beach was recently named the 17th best beach in the US, making the Sarasota County enclave an even more compelling destination for beach bachelorette party enthusiasts.

Homes and condos with pools exist in and around Siesta Key (check out this Airbnb option). If you decide to rent, you and your besties will be able to relax poolside and throw your very own themed party with cute bachelorette decorations. Tropical Breeze Resort, Hibiscus Suites and Beachpoint Cottages are additional lodging options. Bring your group to the Siesta Key Oyster Bar for "great food, fresh oysters, cold beer and live music." Late night, head to the Beach Club Siesta Key, and dance the night away with your girl squad. Another fun activity for bachelorette groups is Cruisin' Tikis Sarasota, with the main boarding location in North Siesta Key. Pack your swimsuits, drinks and snacks, then take a 90-minute cruise around Sarasota Bay, the Intercoastal Waterway, Siesta Key, Lido Key, Bird Key and Longboat Key.
