Desiree Hartsock’s KV Bijou Bridal Jewelry Line: See Behind the Scenes Photos From the Lookbook!
The Bachelorette alum and Maggie Sottero wedding dress designer Desiree Hartsock's bridal jewelry line is finally here! On November 1, Desiree and jewelry designer Kelsey Vanderhorst of KV Bijou launched their Desiree for KV Bijou collection that's inspired by a bohemian lifestyle and organic shapes.
“From a design partner to a friend, I adore Kelsey's eye for unique stones and the ability we have to understand each other's design aesthetic," Desiree, who got engaged to Chris Siegfried last year, tells The Knot. “Love and determination goes into each and every single piece of jewelry made and I can't wait for brides everywhere to see and feel that difference."
To get the free-spirited and romantic style they wanted for their lookbook shoot, Kelsey and Desiree chose the chic and nature-driven Rowena's Inn in British Columbia, Canada, for a beautiful backdrop.
“Desiree and I are both obsessed with the water, so it was an easy to choice that we knew we'd need to be close to water!" Kelsey says. “We choose Rowena's Inn, which is a stunning waterfront estate located on 160 acres. The setting was absolutely picturesque and even though we happened to get rain that day, we had the most amazing backdrop for our shoot."
As for the hair, makeup and decor, the designers went for a natural and romantic look.
“Our hair stylist Kobie Hildebrand incoporated braids, romantic loose curls and 'undone' updos, while our makeup artist Renee Bruinsma kept it natural using Stila Makeup to create glowy and dewy skin. We were lucky enough to have Celsia Florist use their talents to create beautiful arrangements for us. We opted for blush pinks, leafy greens and cascading blooms. We also had romantic flower crowns to play with, which were so fun! And to create a personalized feel to our lookbook, we found amazing vintage props from Spruce Collective. We pulled things like vintage bird cages, old gold frames and vintage luggage that added a whimsical touch."
The models were dressed in Maggie Sottero wedding dresses (provided by The Bridal Gallery) that had lace, embellished details and simple lines to pair well with the jewelry — and of course, some dresses from Desiree's collection with Maggie Sottero!
“[Desiree's wedding dresses] were a perfect fit with our jewelry collection, and seeing Desiree in a wedding dress got us all very excited for her to be a bride in January! Being able to style our models together was way too much fun. It was incredibly fulfilling to see our ideas come to life. It was a day I'll never forget!"
