This Costa Rican Hindu Wedding Is Seriously Stunning
Anokhi and Amit love to travel the world. They even got engaged at the Temple of Debod in Madrid, Spain. So, a destination wedding at Punto de Vista, a villa resort in the rain forest of Costa Rica, just felt right. The stunning ocean views, plant life, and saturated colors could have sprung directly from the pages of National Geographic. “I just let the beauty of Costa Rica dictate the decor of the wedding," Anokhi says. “We used lots of tropical flowers including reds, oranges and yellows for the ceremony and went super elegant at the reception with the color white."
Events & Experiences along with Eventos Boadicea helped the couple create their perfect version of the traditional Hindu wedding. “We had a custom mandap wrapped with gorgeous flowers, ghost chairs for the guests and the aisle was lined with roses." Anokhi says. “Our view overlooked both the rain forest and the beach!" As for the reception, think traditional elegance. “We just wanted everything to scream white. So we had white linens, white roses, crystals and an orchid chandelier."
A big aspect of the overall look of the wedding was the attire of the wedding party. Anokhi wore a custom Red Paisleys gown in white, red, green and gold with traditional golden jewelry and a tikka headpiece and switched to an ombre green gown by Silk Threads for the reception. Her hair, makeup and henna was done by KIS Cubed Events. The bridesmaids wore blue saris (also by Red Paisleys) with individual blouses for character, while groomsmen wore traditional Indian kurtas. Paper goods were created by Imaj Designs and the white and silver cake was made by Contrucciones Dulces. The couple's “Just Married" buggy was provided by Vacation Buggy while Nadia D. Photography captured the entire weekend below and here.
