These Charmin Toilet Paper Wedding Dresses Are Actually Pretty Amazing
Make all the jokes about toilet paper wedding dresses you want (because, well, there are a ton of options), but the 11th Annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest presented by Cheap Chic Weddings and Charmin was on a whole other level than your standard make-a-toilet-paper-wedding-dress-as-quick-as-you-can bridal shower game. Case in point: 10 finalists (out of 1,500 entries) with all kinds of design backgrounds got to carefully pack up their hand-made toilet paper gowns and compete at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City for a chance to win $10,000 -- and have Kleinfeld make the winning creation into a real wedding dress!
The stakes were high, and judges Mikie Russo, wedding planner extraordinaire; Terry Hall, Kleinfeld's Fashion Director; Mara Urshel, Kleinfeld's co-owner; Velvet Gogol Bennett, Senior Communications Manager for P&G North America Family Care; and sisters Laura Gawne and Susan Bain, Cheap Chic Weddings co-founders, had their work cut out for them.
Using only toilet paper, glue, tape and a needle and thread, here's what we saw:

And the winner is...
The snazzy tuxedo gown!
Donna's daughter Aubrey modeled the gown. And when Donna won, she got a little teary-eyed -- so it's a good thing that there was a ton of TOILET PAPER right in front of her to dry her eyes. Just kidding -- Donna, you're a DIY wedding dress wizard and we're bowing down to you.
And here's the back of the dress too:
So whimsical and fun, right?
The second (far right) and third (far left) runners-up also smiled pretty in their TP finest.
Congratulations to all of the 10 finalists!
