Apparently what happens to your ring if you drop it in the garbage disposal is just as bad as you think. We came across this story on Reddit.com of a man's wedding band that fell into the sink and our first thought was "yikes!" But the story has a happy ending because this wedding ring was completely salvaged! Photos of the ring repair were posted by a goldsmith who walked through the steps he took to fix the damage including reshaping the finger hole, buffing out the deep cuts with a ring file and replacing two of the original diamonds which were cracked by the blades. "This was a fun project for me as it is not often I get to work on something that has been destroyed that badly. The gentleman was very pleased to have his wedding ring back good as new!" said the goldsmith who goes by Reddit name nais_kong_ipamahagi. He charged $500 for the repair.

The lesson here? Look out for your rings around the kitchen sink. But if they do somehow get caught inside there's still hope that it can be fixed. See photos of the wedding ring that went through the garbage disposal, below!
