On one hand, it boasts some of the world's most spectacular landscapes ranging from fiery canyons to glittering lakes to dusty, cactus-speckled vistas. On the other, it's home to the razzle-dazzle of Las Vegas and other gambling cities complete with flashing neon lights, showy fountains and nostalgic charm.

Opt for epic natural landscapes by proposing at Valley of Fire State Park, which is located about an hour northeast of Las Vegas. "The red rock formations here are breathtaking. There are so many scenic spots here so the photo opportunities are endless," says CJ Vierra, wedding photographer at forever-club based in Las Vegas, Nevada. "Also, it's away from crowds so it creates the perfect and intimate atmosphere."

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada

Looking for an iconic Las Vegas proposal spot? Head on over to Caesars Palace in the middle of the Strip. "The Colosseum outside of Caesars Palace is a gem," says Chris Benavides, expert Las Vegas-based photographer at CH Photography. "Nestled on the corner of the casino, it offers a stunning backdrop, especially at night when the casino lights shine bright. It's a romantic and beautiful spot that will leave you enchanted."

Lake Tahoe in Sierra, Nevada

About a third of Lake Tahoe is technically in Nevada, and it offers year-round views of its crystal blue waters and towering mountains. "One of my top favorite locations is Lake Tahoe with its magnificent and breathtaking views," says Daliela Sanchez, wedding and couples photographer at Daliela Photography based in the Southwest. Consider proposing on a private boat cruise or during a scenic hike.

Apex Nellis Dunes Recreation Area in Nellis AFB, Nevada

For a Nevada proposal spot that's a bit different from the rest, opt for a sandy dune backdrop via the Apex Nellis Dunes. Tucked just off the highway, the 900-acre area showcases sweeping dusty desert vistas that make for a truly unique proposal.

The Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas, Nevada

Another Las Vegas Strip proposal spot is the Bellagio Fountains. And if you stand on the Western side, your proposal photographer can also get the Paris Hotels' Eiffel Tower in the background. "It's a breathtaking panoramic view of the Las Vegas skyline, especially during sunset," Vierra says. "The coordinated water of the fountain and the lights of the Eiffel Tower create the most amazing backdrop without having to plan anything other than timing."

Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas, Nevada

"Red Rock Canyon boasts breathtaking views with red mountains that blaze like fire," Benavides says. "It's the ultimate spot for a proposal, whether you're basking in the glow of sunrise or soaking in the magic of sunset. This stunning location will make your special moment unforgettable." The area is pretty large, so you've got a lot of options to choose from. Consider heading to the Calico Basin, which is particularly romantic at sunset.

The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada

If you're feeling the flashy Las Vegas proposal vibes, head on over to the Neon Museum and saunter down its pathway of nostalgic neon signs. Time your session for the evening when all the signs are lit up and flashing. You do need to pay a small fee to shoot here—$50 for an hour, or $35 if you're a Nevada resident, student or active military member.

Seven Magic Mountains in Henderson, Nevada

For a different type of color, drop a knee at the dazzling Seven Magic Mountains, a vibrant art installation in the middle of the desert created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. These towering, brightly painted rock formations lend a contemporary feel for those who want a slightly less conventional, but still wow-worthy Nevada proposal spot.

Cactus Joe's Blue Diamond Nursery in Las Vegas, Nevada

A cactus nursery may not seem like the natural choice when figuring out where to propose in Nevada, but take a quick look at what Cactus Joe's has to offer and you'll understand why this is a treasured destination for pics. This eclectic desert garden has a stunning greenhouse filled with cacti and expansive grounds surrounded by desert foothills.

Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada

Lake Las Vegas is a manmade oasis with crystal-clear water, lush green landscapes and charming European-inspired architecture. "At Lake Las Vegas, you get the best of both worlds: sparkling waters and awe-inspiring mountain ranges," Benavides says. "It's like stepping into a fairytale straight out of a storybook." This unique combination of natural beauty and stunning architecture makes it a memorable location to pop the big question.

Downtown Fremont in Las Vegas, Nevada

If you like the idea of Vegas but want to really pump up the nostalgia and get away from huge crowds, head to Fremont Street. This was one of the first paved streets in Las Vegas, and it still retains a certain retro charm with its vintage neon signs and classic casino facades. "It has those iconic neon lights and the backdrops are colorful and vibrant, but my favorite part is that it's very nostalgic," Vierra says.

Great Basin National Park in Baker, Nevada

Beloved for its ancient bristlecone pines and the Lehman Caves, Great Basin National Park is a serene and lesser-known gem in Nevada. It's beautiful in the daytime, but also consider doing an evening proposal (maybe from golden hour to nighttime) so you can take advantage of the fact that it's an International Dark Sky Park. It doesn't get much more romantic than dropping a knee under the sparkling starry skies as the Milky Way shines brightly above.
