"The state of Texas offers a beautiful variety of landscapes and backdrops. Whether you want to propose on a cliff at a state park, at a rustic winery with hill country views or a rooftop in the heart of downtown, Texas has it all," says Tessa Bertamini, founder of Amore Austin. "Additionally, every city in Texas has a different vibe, which is great for couples coming into Texas specifically to propose or for couples who live in Texas but want to propose in a different city."
Since Texas is a huge state, it can be overwhelming to narrow down the best place to propose in Texas. "Small towns like Fredericksburg and Wimberley offer more quaint and historic scenery, whereas cities like Austin and Dallas have more modern venue options," says Bertamini.
The time of year you plan to propose may also impact your choice of proposal location. "If you plan to propose in the winter, it's best to choose bigger cities with more visually appealing indoor locations," adds Bertamini. "Whereas if you plan to propose in the spring or summer, almost every city in Texas has beautiful outdoor locations."
Bertamini suggests that the best time of year to plan your proposal in Texas is spring and fall, when she notes the weather is *usually* close to 70 and sunny, which is ideal for an outdoor proposal. Summer may be best to avoid.
"Texas is incredibly hot during the summer, which can make an outdoor proposal not as enjoyable," says Bertamini. "Our winters have become increasingly unpredictable, so we encourage couples to consider indoor locations during this time."
