About The Knot Registry Awards: What Are They | Selection Process | What's Next
What Are The Knot Registry Awards?
The Knot Registry Awards are annual prizes that aim to relieve some of the decision fatigue of wedding planning by offering couples an extensively researched, hand-selected group of exceptional wedding gift ideas. Since 2016, our eagle-eyed registry team evaluates a product's value yearly through internal data, trusted independent reviews, in-person merchandising reviews and an outside nomination process to ensure each lives up to the hype.
How Are the Products Selected?
Every winner is selected by our registry team, a crew with an extensive background in buying, merchandising and styling in the home and lifestyle spaces that always has their collective ear to the ground. While their intuition is spot-on (it's scary, honestly), the team also relies on a rigorous five-month research process encompassing internal research, external studies and hard data to determine what products deserve to be award winners.
First, the registry team scours our The Knot Registry Store numbers, studying what our couples frequently register for, what brands and products they regularly search for, what they review highly and what gifts guests scoop up first. The selection committee then digs deep into our detailed internal studies, like our annual Real Weddings Study and Wedding Registry Study as well as external studies to decipher the price points and categories that truly matter to couples. Additionally, the team consults hundreds of independent reviews and detailed nomination forms, and carefully sifts through sample product submissions by hand in our NYC office. Also top of mind: the top wedding registry trends for the upcoming year as well as relevant trends on Google search, Pinterest and social media platforms to stay ahead of the curve.
Gift Card, Service & Experience Winners
Maybe you've been cohabiting for a few years and you already have your home stocked, or perhaps your love language as a couple is quality time versus gift giving. In our most recent The Knot Registry Study, 43% of couples say they're not looking to add physical gifts to their wish lists. But these goodies for your gift card registry, services and fun experience presents will make newlywed life sweet. (And don't worry, it's not against wedding registry etiquette to skip the tangible gifts.)
Pressed Floral Preserved Wedding Bouquet Gift Card
Nostalgia and sentimentality is in for weddings. And what's sweeter than getting a gift card toward making a precious memento of your celebration? If you, your partner or the both of you are carrying bouquets on the day, register for a gift card or two from Pressed Floral, which expertly presses and preserves your wedding bouquet in a frame between glass.
SPUR Experiences MLB Ticket Gift Card
Summoning all sporty couples: You can add tickets to see your favorite baseball team to your wedding registry. And you don't even need to rely on The Knot's universal registry capabilities to do so, since MLB, NFL and NBA tickets from SPUR Experiences are all found in The Knot Registry Store. Maybe add some matching jerseys to your wish list as well (awe).
NewlyNamed Box Gift Card
Filled with every single sheet of paper one would need to swap their surname, this box will save so much time if you or your partner (or both) are planning on changing your name postwedding. There are boxes for every state (plus Washington, DC), so there's no need to worry about missing any forms. Seriously, why run around picking up papers when your registry can help you complete this task from your couch?
Artkive Wedding Cards Book Service
If you're as sentimental as we are, you might have trouble figuring out what to do with your wedding and shower cards besides hoarding them into a box that'll take up valuable closet space forever. Enter: this sweet and practical service. You simply send a box filled with up to 60 cards of choice to Artkive and the service will make them into an attractive coffee table book. The page spreads will show a professional photograph of the front and the inside of each card, so no detail will be missed.
Kitchen & Tabletop Winners
Whether you're into fine china or just want some matching dishware that's not from Ikea, registry help is on the way. See the small appliances, tabletop goodies and kitchen gadgets we love this year to consider when you make your registry.
Sophie Lou Jacobsen Wave Pitcher
French-American designer Sophie Lou Jacobsen is a master of sleek tablewares with a twist of whimsy. Take this pitcher crafted from durable, high-quality borosilicate glass for example. The straight, cylindrical shape feels chic and modern, while the wiggled handle provides a moment of joy. Select between seven colorways.
Le Creuset Round Dutch Oven
Another multi-year award winner, this is the Rolls Royce of Dutch ovens (and one of the most versatile pieces of cookware you'll own). The iconic French brand is favored by home cooks, our couples (19% of participants in our Wedding Registry Study registered for a Le Creuset piece) and celeb chefs alike (including Ina Garten). And with sturdy enamel and cast-iron construction, it'll last long enough to be an heirloom and is a must for your kitchen wedding registry checklist.
Alessi Plissé Two-Slice Toaster
This unbelievably sexy toaster (it's true) has six browning settings to get your bread as crispy as you please. This Italian-designed appliance is delicately pleated, almost like a cupcake wrapper. You won't want to tuck this baby away on a pantry shelf or in an appliance garage.
KitchenAid Five-Quart Stand Mixer
Ahh, the classic KitchenAid mixer. This item has won a Registry Award year after year, and still stands the test of time. Equipped with 10 speeds as well as attachments that'll tackle everything from cookies to bread, this beloved appliance is a ninja in the kitchen (and likely why 34% of our Registry-Study couples made a stand mixer a must on their wish lists). Don't make this one of your forgotten registry items.
Bed & Bath Winners
You pulled off a great wedding (it will happen, we promise)—you deserve to have your home feel like a luxury spa. See the award-winning bed and bath goodies that should be at the top of your wedding registry checklist.
Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set
Buttery-soft, 480-thread-count sheets? Can we sleep over? This set from Brooklinen includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet and two pillowcases—all of which will add a touch of elegance to your nights and naps.
Hawkins New York Simple Striped Terry Bath Towel
This fluffy towel is understated, yet interesting. Available in six funky colorways, it's made from 100% cotton terry (and the stuff of dreams). We adore the subtle stripe pattern for both the bathroom and the beach.
Parachute Linen Duvet Cover
Parachute is known for its luxury linens, and this duvet cover is a must-have. It's woven entirely from European flax linen, which is equal parts breathable and luxurious. Plus, it's easy to pop in the wash.
LiveFine Towel Warmer With Lid
We all deserve a little daily luxury, and warm towels are a great way to romanticize your life. This handy little towel warmer will heat up two full-sized towels (which is why it's one of the most perfect, upgrade-focused registry picks for cohabiting couples) in 15 minutes, so set it, step into your shower and you'll be cozy immediately after you shut off the water. You can toss in a robe too.
Home & Lifestyle Winners
Even the most basic household items could use an upgrade. And sometimes, there are useful home gadgets that you never knew you needed, but won't be able to live without. (And BTW, don't forget to link any wish lists you've made with your fave home stores to The Knot, like an Anthropologie wedding registry or Home Depot wedding registry.) See our favorite winners in this category here.
Artifact Uprising Wedding Layflat Photo Album
Artifact Uprising makes some of the most lovely, minimalist photo albums around. Available in four sizes, this wedding album features a textured linen cover as well as your names and wedding date stamped in foil. You'll never want to take this baby off the coffee table.
Ooni Koda 12 Gas-Powered Pizza Oven
Imagine a pizza night at home with your soon-to-be spouse—there's a balmy summer breeze and a great bottle of red. (Let that cozy vision float you if you're feeling some wedding planning stress.) This small-but-mighty, gas-fueled pizza oven is designed to cook a single pie in 60 seconds, so you'll have plenty of time to eat, lounge and reminisce about your honeymoon.
FS Objects Spindle Candle Holder
Taper candles are the epitome of elegance for your table. And for these classic, slender candles, you'll need holders that are equally as lovely. This pair is sleek and modern, but not stark, thanks to the warm brass material. You can select between three different sizes (mix and match at least two of different heights if you'd like to display them in a cluster) and two different shapes—one rounded and one triangular.
YETI Roadie 24 Cooler
One of the most popular registry items with our couples, this cooler functions just as well on a camping trip as it does on your back deck. It'll hold 33 cans (or eight wine bottles, if that's your speed) and keep them icy for hours. Not to mention: the cool neutral colors it comes in.
Why You Should Add These Winners to Your Registry
Real talk: There are countless lists out there that tell you what to put on your wedding registry (we know, we've written a few), but our whole mission with The Knot Registry Awards is to help you cut through the noise. One of the best registry tips we can give—besides to stick with what's timeless, quality and feels personal to you—is to not let anxiety over choosing "the right things" take the fun and excitement out of the process. You're getting married; focus on the joy and let us take care of the wish-list heavy lifting.
"Our goal is to curate a diverse selection that reflects both timeless favorites and fresh discoveries, ensuring couples have access to the best options across all categories," says Sam Kaplan, senior manager of registry at The Knot. "Ultimately, we want to simplify the process so couples can focus on what matters most: celebrating this exciting chapter in their lives." We'll keep putting in the work year after year to keep your registry experience seamless, so you can spend less time trolling Amazon reviews and stressing over sheet sets and more time basking in that to-be-wed magic. And to make your life even easier, your wish list will automatically populate in its own clearly marked tab on a The Knot wedding website, so sharing your registry with guests is easy.
