One of the coolest things about The Knot Registry is that you can add gifts from literally anywhere. While it's a great feeling when the world is your wedding registry oyster, there's also a chance you'll be hit with a big wave of decision fatigue. Enter: The Knot Registry Awards, our way of taking the burden of sifting through hundreds of different toasters off your shoulders (because it's already hard enough planning a wedding and figuring out what to watch on Netflix while you build your wedding website). Basically, we sift through the thousands of products we stock in The Knot Registry Store (offered from hundreds of popular brands, by the way) each year to find the very special few that you should include on your wedding registry. We envision these items to be your first line of defense against registry fatigue, saving you days of stress and research because you know they've been vetted by your registry fairy godparents (hi, that's us). And given that enchanted title, we also know that many to-be-weds aren't really into tangible presents, especially if you've been living together for a few years, so you'll also find our picks for special experiences and gift cards that'll make your registry feel personal to you. Learn how we work our magic and see some of our favorite award winners for 2024 below.

About The Knot Registry Awards: What Are They | Selection Process | Why You Should Care

What Are The Knot Registry Awards?

The Knot Registry Awards are yearly prizes that aim to relieve some of the decision fatigue of wedding planning by offering couples an extensively researched, hand-selected group of exceptional wedding registry gift ideas that serve as a helpful starting point as they build their wish lists. Going strong since 2016, The Knot Registry Awards are given to gifts from The Knot Registry Store that are both on trend and timeless—many of which are multi-year award recipients (though, our eagle-eyed registry team reevaluates a product's quality, value and popularity each year to ensure it still stands up to the hype).

How Are the Products Selected?

Every winner is selected by our registry team, a crew with an extensive background in buying, merchandising and styling in the home and lifestyle spaces that always has their collective ear to the ground for the most amazing must-have wish list items. And while their intuition is SO spot-on (it's scary, honestly), the team also relies on a rigorous five-month research process to determine what products deserve to be award winners that's data-driven and determined by the opinions of real couples.

Internally, we have a wealth of data, and that's where the picking process starts. The registry team looks closely at what our couples love registering for, what brands and products they regularly search for, what they're reviewing highly and what gifts guests are scooping up the second they land on a couple's registry page. We also determine the top three emerging trends surrounding wedding registries for the upcoming year, and ensure that those are kept top of mind during the selection process. (Inside scoop: 2024's are travel and adventure, health and wellness and colorful essentials.) Additionally, the selection committee digs deep into our detailed internal studies, like our annual Real Weddings Study and Wedding Registry Study, to decipher the price points and categories that truly matter to couples. Beyond our own data, the registry team also keeps tabs on trends across Google search, Pinterest and social media platforms to stay ahead of the curve.

Gift Card & Experience Winners

Maybe you've been cohabiting for a few years already and you already have your home stocked up, or perhaps your love language as a couple is more quality time versus gift giving. Why You Should Add These Winners to Your Registry

Real talk: There are countless lists out there that tell you what you should add to your wedding registry (we know, we've written quite a few), but our whole mission with The Knot Registry Awards is to help you cut through the noise, so you don't have to look at 50+ ideas if you don't want to. One of the best registry tips we can give—besides to stick with what's timeless, quality and feels personal to you—is to not let anxiety over choosing "the right things" take the fun and excitement out of the process. You're getting married—focus on the joy and let us take care of the wish-list legwork. Our trustworthy pros will keep putting in the work year after year to keep your registry experience seamless, so you can spend less time trolling Amazon reviews and stressing over sheet sets and more time basking in that to-be-wed magic.

*The 2023 Wedding Registry Study represents feedback among over 5,000 respondents ages 18+ in the US. The survey was sent to couples in April 2023 with an email address on file with The Knot.
