Mixologist's Spring Wedding Cocktail Recipes

We spoke with Allie Valley, a mixologist from The Boathouse Restaurant in Lake George, New York, about whipping up some springtime drinks for your next event. She crafted some delicious cocktails with a seasonal spin to elevate your menu.

1. Springtime Green Barracuda

This green drink will make you think of all the beautiful foliage coming to life this spring. And the little lemon wedge is like your own slice of sunshine in this tropical-inspired cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 4 parts dark rum
  • 1 part Galliano liqueur
  • 5 parts pineapple juice
  • 1 part lime juice
  • 4 parts Prosecco

How to Make:

Shake the first four ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass. Top with Prosecco.

2. Spring Break Miami Vice

Cool off this spring with this frozen cocktail. It has a swirl of lovely colors and springtime flavors that'll be the hit of your next party.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz Bacardi Rum
  • 3 oz Frozen Piña Colada Mix
  • 3 oz Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
  • Ice, strawberry and whipped cream to garnish

How to Make:

In a blender, add 2 ounces of the rum, strawberry daiquiri mix, strawberries and ice and blend until smooth. Put it in the freezer. Then, add the remaining rum, piña colada mix and more ice and blend until smooth. Pour into the hurricane glass that already contains the Strawberry Daiquiri, creating a layered effect and garnish with whipped cream.

3. Citrusy Sweet Dirty Shirley

This is a citrusy spin on a Dirty Shirley that'll taste just like your favorite seasonal fruits. It's like an adult version of a cherry limeade.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. grenadine
  • 4 oz. lemon-lime soda
  • Maraschino cherries and lime wheels for serving

How to Make:

Fill a glass with ice, then add vodka, grenadine and fresh lime juice. Top with soda, then garnish with a maraschino cherry and lime or orange slices.

4. Blueberry Lemonade Margarita

Enjoy the flavors of a lemonade stand and a farmer's market with a dash of alcohol. This cocktail blends springtime colors and tastes for a seasonal treat.

Ingredients:

(For the syrup)

  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. blueberries
  • Zest of 1/2 lime

(For the margarita)

  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp. kosher salt
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 8 oz. tequila
  • 4 oz. triple sec
  • 1 c. lemonade
  • Ice

How to Make:

Combine sugar and water in a saucepan on medium heat. Add blueberries and lime zest and boil the mixture. Simmer until blueberries burst. Strain and let cool. Mix sugar and salt on a plate. Rub lemon wedge and dip the glass into the mixture. Pour tequila, triple sec and lemonade into glasses. Fill with ice and blueberry syrup. Garnish with lemon wedge and serve.

5. Day by the Lake (George Breeze)

This is the perfect lakeside sip for your spring get-together. Enjoy a mix of tropical flavors in a pretty pink drink that'll remind you of your favorite spring flowers.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Malibu Coconut Rum
  • 4 oz. fresh pineapple juice
  • Splash cranberry juice
  • Splash of grenadine

How to Make:

Place ice cubes in a glass and pour in the coconut rum. Add the pineapple juice, then the cranberry juice and top with grenadine.

The weather's warming up, so how about a frozen drink to stay cool? These mudslides are like an Easter treat with a cocktail twist.

Ingredients:

  • 4 c. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 c. ice cubes
  • 4 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream, chilled
  • 4 oz. coffee liqueur, chilled
  • 2 oz. vodka, chilled
  • Chocolate syrup, for drizzling
  • Sweetened whipped cream, optional

How to Make:

Drizzle chocolate syrup in a chilled glass. Place vodka, coffee liqueur, Irish cream, vanilla ice cream, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth and pour into the glass. Drizzle with more chocolate syrup and whipped cream to garnish.
