So you popped the question and you're ready to begin your forever with bae. Congratulations on this huge milestone! First thing first: You need to hire a photographer and find the perfect locale to capture some gorgeous engagement photos in Atlanta. Lucky for you, The Big Peach has plenty to offer in terms of picture-perfect backdrops ranging from historic spots to charming gardens.

The Knot Vendor Marketplace can help you find the perfect photographer, and below we've rounded up the best Atlanta engagement photo locations. Once you've nailed down a spot for your e-session, start planning what to wear and how to use your pics (pro tip: they're great for save-the-dates and your wedding website).

Piedmont Park Conservancy

Piedmont Park Conservancy is one of the city's premiere green spaces, offering lots of picturesque locations across the grounds for some epic engagement pics. "The most popular locations are the gazebo—which is super romantic—as well as the rotunda right on the pond," says wedding and engagement photographer Keri Lindekugel, owner of Georgia-based Keri Lindekugel Photography. There's also Lake Clara Meer, which offers stunning views of the Atlanta skyline.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Technically located within Piedmont Park, you'll find the dreamy Atlanta Botanical Garden which is filled with flowers and plants. "It is massive and there are so many little nooks and crannies," Lindekugel says. If you love flowers you could head to the orchid center or the rose garden, or do your Atlanta Botanical Garden engagement photos in one of the many greenery locations or walkways for a serene session.

Coca-Cola Roxy Theater

Whether you're both music lovers or you're looking for a whimsical backdrop, the Coca-Cola Roxy Theater is a fitting engagement photo location in Atlanta. "The marquee can be rented on [days and] nights where there isn't a show going on," says Atlanta photographer Elizabeth Page, owner of Elizabeth Page Photography. "It also overlooks Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, and there's a ton of fun restaurants to celebrate being engaged and pop some champagne."

The Atlanta BeltLine

For a vibrant backdrop filled with nature trails, sparkling city views and urban art, consider Atlanta Beltline engagement photos. Jaimie Dee, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Atlanta, says, "The murals and art installations along the BeltLine can also add a personal touch if any of them hold special meaning for the couple."

Town Green in Downtown Duluth

If you're open to traveling just a little bit outside of the main city limits, Page says to book your e-session at Town Green in Downtown Duluth. "This is a cute little suburb park right outside of Atlanta," she says. "It's so cute during Christmas time with the lights and is decorated for all holidays, as well."

Peachtree Club

Looking for Atlanta engagement photo locations with a skyline view? The Peachtree Club delivers. "It is a stunning rooftop venue that offers breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline," Dee says. She says it's particularly epic during sunset when all the buildings are lit up and the sky is a multitude of colors. Note that you or your engagement photographer will need to book the venue in advance.

Swan House Historic Center

If you are looking for ultra-romantic engagement photo locations in Atlanta, Lindekugel recommends checking out the Swan House Historic Center. "It is the most romantic and dreamy location in Atlanta with its European style architecture and beautifully maintained front lawn and garden," she says. "The Swan House and gardens give you plenty of different backdrops and spots to take beautiful engagement photos."

Cator Woolford Gardens

Owned by the Frazer Center, a nonprofit organization, the Cator Woolford Gardens is a lush oasis of greenery and architecture nestled into Atlanta's Druid Hills. It's one of the only remaining estates in the city (built in the 1920s) and remains an untouched piece of history and nature. Page says it's one of her favorite spots for Atlanta engagement photos; just note that there's a fee to shoot here ($100 per hour).

The Roof at Ponce City Market

If you want a more urban-style backdrop for your e-session, Lindekugel recommends the rooftop at Ponce City Market. "It is a great spot to give you all of the Atlanta skyline views," she says. "It has a retractable roof, as well, so in any kind of weather, your session can go off without a hitch. It also has retro boardwalk games and other fun things to do."

Winn Park

Winn Park is a tranquil, lush spot tucked into the heart of Ansley Park. "This hidden gem features a picturesque pond where you can capture stunning reflection photos," Dee says. "The park's intimate and private atmosphere, combined with its easy street parking and lovely landscaping, makes it a perfect location for a quiet and romantic session."

Ventanas

Check out Ventanas if you're in the market for epic and bougie engagement photo ideas in Atlanta. Page says, "There is a beautiful restaurant on the 14th floor [of the Park Pavilion building] called Ventanas with floor-to-ceiling views of midtown and downtown Atlanta with a helicopter pad at the top of the rooftop. You can even add a helicopter and fly in or out on one." It's also a great option for indoor engagement photos in Atlanta.

Historic Old Fourth Ward Park

Located right across from Ponce City Market you'll find the Historic Old Fourth Ward Park, a giant park that provides a beautiful setting for engagement photos in Atlanta. "It has a bunch of water walkways, a historic staircase, a unique fountain, pond and even an amphitheater," Lindekugel says.
