Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve in Arco, ID
This surreal landscape of ancient lava flows and cinder cones is an amazing spot for adventure-loving couples. A proposal at the top of Inferno Cone or in one of the fascinating lava tube caves offers a unique and otherworldly setting, according to Ricketts. It provides a picturesque backdrop for an intimate moment, especially if you pop the question at sunset.
Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, ID
Ricketts suggests Shoshone Falls, a breathtaking 212-foot waterfall known as the "Niagara of the West." The roaring water creates a dramatic scene for a proposal, especially during spring when the falls are at their most powerful. Consider proposing during the annual light show in May when the falls are lit with vibrant colors.

Propose on a private boat ride, at a secluded beach or during a hike (quite a few trails offer panoramic views of the lake).
Boise Foothills in Boise, ID
The rolling hills surrounding Boise provide a mix of hiking trails and scenic overlooks, which is great for a more private proposal outdoors. With expansive views of the city below and the mountains in the distance, the foothills are especially beautiful during golden hour—which your photographer will love.

Bald Mountain in Sun Valley, ID
For couples who enjoy skiing or hiking, Bald Mountain in Sun Valley offers incredible views of the surrounding mountain ranges.
