Exclusive: Love is Blind's Lauren & Cameron Reveal Wedding Details You Didn't See on the Show
Hot off the finale of another wildly popular (and wildly dramatic) season of Love is Blind, fans can't help but wonder where previously married couples currently stand. As of today, there are eight Love is Blind couples still together: Lydia and Milton, Zack and Bliss, Kwame and Chelsea, Brett and Tiffany, Matt and Colleen, Brennon and Alexa, Matt and Amber, and, of course, fan favorites Lauren and Cameron. The first season of Netflix's hit dating series premiered in 2020, but it was filmed two years prior—which means the show's earliest couples are approaching their fifth wedding anniversary. (Yes, you read that right!)
Ahead of this major milestone, our sister site Hitched caught up with Lauren Speed-Hamilton to get the inside scoop on her marriage to Cameron Hamilton, including their plans for an upcoming anniversary vow renewal. Plus, she shares brand new wedding details you *didn't* see on the show.

The Latest News on Lauren and Cameron's Marriage
For fans wondering if Love is Blind's Lauren and Cameron are still together, we have great news: Not only is the couple still married, they're stronger than ever. "I always say we did it backward," she told Hitched. "We got married and then we started dating, which in a lot of ways was fun and exciting, but it's definitely different than anything I've ever experienced."
Since they discussed important topics in the pods, like their views on politics, finances, and raising children, they got to enjoy the typical, lighthearted excitement that accompanies a new relationship after the show ended. "In that aspect, I feel like it was great. We did the hard stuff first, and did the fun stuff after the wedding."
Although the show's popularity continues to reach new heights, Speed, a content creator, says their early appearance may have contributed to their remarkable success outside of the pods. (There's a common consensus among LIB superfans that Lauren and Cameron are the ultimate success story to come from the series.) "Going into the first season, for us, it really was an experiment," she reflected. "As a matter of fact, production held back a lot of details that we didn't know until we actually got there."
Speed also specified that both she and her husband didn't pursue a spot on the show, meaning they weren't coming into the experience with ulterior motives. "I think one of the big differences [from other couples] is that during our season, Cameron and I didn't seek out to go on Love is Blind—the casting actually approached us."
She continued, "One of the casting people slid into my DMs, like, 'Hey, there's a new show coming out and we think that you might enjoy it,' and for the longest time I ignored it because I never really wanted to do reality TV. It just always seems so messy and I felt like Black women weren't always portrayed in the best light on reality TV."
But after some convincing from the casting director, she decided to take the leap of faith. "The more that I talked to the casting director…I started to grow more interested in the show and just the possibility that this could be something where I could potentially meet somebody."
She didn't only meet "somebody," she met her life partner. In a previous interview with The Knot, the couple opened up about the very moment they knew they were in love. "On our second date when Cameron and I were crying together as we talked about our families, I knew for me, I had never experienced this before," she told us. "This man is special. He has to be or stay in my life in some capacity… It showed on the show. When I walked out of the pod."
Hamilton, a scientist, agreed, adding, "That's when I realized I was in love with her. As a side note, what you see on the show is not all the dates that occurred. We were dating 16-plus hours a day. My main point was one of the dates they didn't show was Lauren and I having a conversation, I don't know where it came into my mind, but I asked her, 'What if I proposed to you?' And she said, 'What if I said 'yes.' I knew that's when she would be my wife."
Lauren and Cameron's Wedding Details
Love is Blind's Lauren and Cameron's wedding took place on November 16, 2018—but one thing you didn't see on the show was that they went to the courthouse the day before to begin the legal process. "They actually have us go to the courthouse the day before the wedding and get the paperwork," Speed told Hitched. "You don't sign it until after you say your 'I dos' the next day, but you go and file, get the paperwork and show your IDs. It's a real full-on courthouse marriage."
Fans of the show may recall that Speed was visibly emotional on her wedding day, which she says was due to the quick nature of their planning timeline. "That's why on the show, I took my time. I actually cried because I was so scared," she continued. "I knew I wanted to do this, but it felt really real being in the courthouse. In my mind I did think, 'Do I really want to do this?'"
She added, "I knew we were in front of the cameras, and I knew this was a show. But at the end of the day when the cameras leave, and when all is said and done, I'm still going to be married to this man, and I didn't want to make a mistake."
Another detail that may surprise people is how much influence the couples have over their own wedding. One thing couples don't pick is the date—in fact, Lauren and Cameron's wedding took place on her birthday. ("I have a birthday anniversary, which, for some people is cute, but for me, I feel like they robbed me out of my own personal holiday—but me and Cam have learned to celebrate them separately so that works," she notes.)
Although they didn't get to pick the officiant or the venue (which was The Estate, a historic mansion in Atlanta), they did have control over some aesthetic elements. "I wanted there to be a splash of color with purple and pinks," she previously told The Knot, noting that the music and cocktails were also "very important." She also confirmed that Love is Blind couples are allowed to invite up to 50 guests each, though she ended up having about 10 close friends and family members in attendance due to the secretive nature of filming the show.
Lauren and Cameron's Wedding Vow Renewal Plans
Now that they're five years into their marriage, Lauren and Cameron have the opportunity to plan a second wedding, their way—and they have their sights set on a vow renewal far from the classic estate where they first exchanged vows. "We're in the process of planning our renewal," she revealed to Hitched. "I think we're gonna do something Las Vegas-style and go to the little chapel, have the cute little fun funky wedding dress and the old car with our family and friends and just have a good time."
