We know your secret: You need a way to transition your rosé habit from summer to fall without people giving you the side eye. It's okay, we're here to talk you through it.

First of all, contrary to popular belief, rosé is so versatile it's actually meant to be enjoyed all year around (even if it does hit the spot at happy hour in July). Secondly, you're getting married! That means you have plenty of reasons to raise a glass and sip your favorite pink wine as often as you'd like, whether it's at your engagement party, shower, bachelorette party or on your wedding day. And finally, if you're not totally sold on popping your usual pink bottle after Labor Day, we need to introduce you to the perfect wine to fill that blush-hued void—Croft Pink rosé port, the first-ever rosé port (and it's only $20!). If you're searching for an amazing bridal shower drink, a crowd-pleasing signature cocktail or dessert rosé at your wedding reception, this bottle has your name on it.

Port is a rich and (usually) sweet fortified wine exclusively produced in the Douro Valley in northern Portugal. What makes this particular kind so special? It's lighter, fruitier and crisper than your typical port and a little more rich than most rosés. It hits some pleasant floral and raspberry notes like your go-to rosé would, but has a bit more depth thanks to aromatic hints of darker stone fruits like ripe cherry and plum. We can see it now: Passed barbecue chicken sliders paired with crisp rosé port at your fall wedding reception. Who could say no?

Croft Pink's festive rosé-port hybrid is ideal all year—just ask James Beard award–winning sommelier, restaurateur and writer Belinda Chang. "I love Croft Pink in the summer in an ice cold slushy with tonic and berries or by itself on ice—but in the cooler months, even the frigid months in Chicago, I still crave it, but in different ways," Chang says. "During the fall and winter, I love wines and cocktails with gently spiced, concentrated and dark fruit flavors. Croft Pink works in any traditional port punch recipe—make a cute ice mold, put out your vintage punch bowl and cut crystal punch cups and you don't need to do much else."

Honestly, it's so good on it's own or over ice, but for anyone still in summer bachelorette party mode, you're going to want to make a batch of this super-simple pink port frosé immediately.

Ingredients:

1 bottle Croft Pink rosé port
Ice

Directions:

  1. Pour 1 bottle of Croft Pink into ice cube trays or a plastic container and freeze.
  2. Wait 12–24 hours, when frozen (as much as 20-percent ABV will freeze—it'll still be pretty slushy!). Combine with half as much regular ice in blender and blend together until smooth.
  3. Pour into glass of your choice and enjoy.
