The wedding veil has long been the most iconic hair accessory for brides. I'm talking as far back as ancient Rome. While wedding veil styles have greatly evolved since then, the bridal hair accessory continues to play a significant role in completing a bride's look on her special day, and they aren't going anywhere any time soon. Just ask our two veil experts, Madison Chamberlain, a non-traditional bridal designer, and Brittany Bergeron, Operations Coordinator at The Bridal Finery located in Winter Park, Florida. They're sharing their insights into the top wedding veil trends of 2024. Plus, I'm unveiling (pun intended) some of my top picks if you're ready to start shopping or looking for inspiration.

There are so many wedding veil styles to choose from these days, but there are a few trends we've been seeing on the New York Bridal Fashion Week runways. From pops of color and pearls to flirty bows and the return of longer lengths, to-be-weds are embracing the veil like never before as an ode to personal style. "It's hard to fit everything into one dress sometimes, and your veil lends itself perfectly to fill in those missing pieces," says Chamberlin. "For example, you really wanted bows on your dress but ended up falling in love with a classic simple lace dress but your heart still aches for bows. Add it to your veil!" You don't have to ask me twice! Now, let's get into the top wedding veil trends of 2024.

Wedding veil trends for 2024:

Colorful Wedding Veils

Want to paint the town (or the aisle, rather) with your wedding attire? Try adding a pop of color to your wedding veil style. "For 2024, I see more bold colors, voluminous silhouettes, lots of texture, more quirky personalizations, and the color red! " Did she say red? "Yes, red! The color of passion and love, I foresee it taking bridal and veils by storm," says Chamberlin. From hot pinks and reds to subtle additions of color through embroidery, there are plenty of ways to add different hues to your veil.

Additionally, Bergeron expresses her personal excitement for the trend of colored veils in 2024. She sees it as a fantastic way to incorporate a pop of color into a bridal look, especially since most brides only wear their veils for the ceremony and photos. "Make your veil "something blue" and bolden your look while still keeping it soft and traditional, or add in colored embroidery to tie in the rest of your wedding details," suggests Bergeron.

Long Veils

Extra-long veils, particularly cathedral-length veils, have been making a comeback recently, so expect to see plenty of them down the aisle in 2024. According to Brittany Bergeron, this trend has been making a comeback and shows no signs of slowing down. The allure of these veils lies in their ability to add a touch of glamour to a bride's wedding day look. Bergeron highlights how brides look incredibly glamorous in these veils, both in person and in photographs. "We are seeing more and more brides opt for cathedral-length veils and even some veils with extensive extra footage," she explains. With their ability to enhance a bride's beauty and create stunning visual moments, it's no wonder that extra-long and cathedral-length veils are in high demand for 2024 weddings.
