Calling all Coldplay fans: This one's for you. The British rock band—headed by heartthrob singer-songwriter Chris Martin—has released dozens of great songs over the last 20-plus years. Many of Coldplay's best songs are love songs, making them the perfect addition to your wedding day playlist.

We rounded up a few of our favorite Coldplay wedding songs to get the inspiration flowing. Oh, and, one more thing: Once you narrow down your top Coldplay songs, send over your finalized list to your wedding band or DJ. From there, your pros will be able to implement your song requests—so you can sit back, relax and unwind ahead of the big day.

"Hymn For The Weekend," A Head Full of Dreams

Lyrics you'll love: "Oh, angels sent from up above/You know you make my world light up/When I was down when I was hurt/You came to lift me up"

"Hymn For The Weekend" is most famous for its infectious melody. The upbeat track is best played right after dinner or your first dance. Trust us: It'll encourage everyone to get up and out of their seats.

"Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," Mylo Xyloto

Lyrics you'll love: "I swear you, emerge blinking into/To tell me it's alright/As we soar walls/Every siren is a symphony/And every tear's a waterfall"

"Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" comes from Coldplay's fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto (2011). Highlights include Martin's signature vocals paired with powerful guitar and drum riffs. It makes a beautiful processional song, though you may opt to ditch the vocals so that it's just instrumentals. Alternatively, play it during cocktail hour.

"A Sky Full of Stars," Ghost Stories

Lyrics you'll love: "Cause you're a sky, 'cause you're a sky full of stars/I'm gonna give you my heart/'Cause you're a sky, 'cause you're a sky full of stars/'Cause you light up the path"

"A Sky Full of Stars" is another Coldplay classic—it marks the rock band's first-ever dance hit. Consider making the tune your last dance song so that you can end the night on a sweet and memorable note. It's also a great choice to play during a sparkler send-off.

"Fix You," X&Y

Lyrics you'll love: "Lights will guide you home/And ignite your bones/And I will try to fix you"

Chris Martin wrote "Fix You" for his then-wife Gwyneth Paltrow following her father's death. It's quite a sad (though hopeful) song, so including it in your wedding will be a bit tricky. We recommend playing it during dinner or as an emotional ceremony interlude.

"Lovers in Japan," Prospekt's March

Lyrics you'll love: "Reign of love/I can't let go/To the sea I offer/This heavy load"

This chart-topping Coldplay song is best known for its catchy music and lyrics. Have your band or DJ play a slowed-down version for cocktail hour or dinner. Alternatively, use the band's instrumental version as your processional song.

"Everglow," A Head Full of Dreams

Lyrics you'll love: "But when I'm cold, cold/In water rolled, salt/I know that you're always with me/And the way you will show/And you're with me wherever I go/And you give me this feeling/This everglow"

This slow ballad naturally lends itself to a first dance song. The single, which stems from Coldplay's seventh studio album, A Head Full of Dreams, talks about having hope and happiness, even in dark times.

"A Message," X&Y

Lyrics you'll love: "My song is love/My song is love unknown/And I'm on fire for you clearly/You don't have to be alone"

Consider playing "A Message" once the dance floor has cleared for dinner at your wedding reception. Per Martin, the lyrics are somewhat spiritual. They also convey a message (pun intended, of course) of unconditional support.

"Higher Power," Music of the Spheres

Lyrics you'll love: "This joy is electric and you're circuiting through/I'm so happy that I'm alive/Happy I'm alive at the same time as you/Cause you've got a higher power/Got me singing every second, dancing every hour"

The lyrics to "Higher Power"—which is from Coldplay's latest studio album, Music of the Spheres—discuss the intersection of spirituality, joy and romance. The song's fast-paced rhythm, paired with Martin's striking vocals, makes it a prime pick for closing out the night as a memorable one.

"Strawberry Swing," Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends

Lyrics you'll love: "When it's such, it's such a perfect day/It's such a perfect day/I remember/We were walking up to strawberry swing/I can't wait 'til the morning/Wouldn't want to change a thing"

"Strawberry Swing" from the studio album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends has an incredibly catchy melody that combines guitars, pianos and, of course, Martin's signature vocals. The song itself depicts the sweetness and innocence of young love. Play it during dinner or dessert to help set a relaxed, laid-back ambiance.

"All I Can Think About Is You," Kaleidoscope EP

Lyrics you'll love: "All I can think about is you/We fall in a wonderland/So low/A wonderland for you/I wanna walk into"

"All I Can Think About Is You" features mesmerizing electric guitar riffs, a mellow beat and poetic lyrics. (It is Coldplay, after all.) The song is relatively slow-paced until you reach the climax, marked by loud piano-playing and Martin's high-pitched croons. The contemporary tune is perfect for couples who prefer a less traditional first dance that ultimately flows into an epic dance party.

"Sunrise," Everyday Life

Lyrics you'll love: [Instrumental]

This 2019 song is the opening number of Coldplay's eighth studio album, Everyday Life. There are no lyrics, but the instrumentals, which feature piano and violin, truly speak for itself. Consider incorporating it into your ceremony as a processional song.

"Green Eyes," A Rush of Blood to the Head

Lyrics you'll love: "I came here with a load/And it feels so much lighter now I've met you/And honey, you should know/That I could never go on without you"

In "Green Eyes," Martin croons about his love and devotion to his partner and how much better his life is now that he has found his person. The slow, steady pace makes the love song a perfect pick for your first dance. Thanks to its smooth and tranquil sounds, it also works as prime cocktail hour music.

"Always in My Head," Ghost Stories

Lyrics you'll love: "And so my mouth waters, to be fed/And you're always in my head"

"Always in My Head" isn't your typical mushy love song, but that's not to say it isn't beautiful with its candid, raw and emotional lyrics. While it makes a processional or first dance song, you may want to consider cutting the lyrics.

"Shiver," Parachutes

Lyrics you'll love: "From the moment I wake/To the moment I sleep/I'll be there by your side/Just you try and stop me/I'll be waiting in line"

Released in 2000, "Shiver" is one of Coldplay's oldest love songs. The nostalgia-inducing track is laden with heartfelt lyrics. Ask your wedding band or DJ to play it during dinner so that your guests can savor the magnificent music from the comfort of their seats.

"Up&Up," A Head Full of Dreams

Lyrics you'll love: "We're gonna get it, get it together, I know"

You'll love this 2015 track, which features a chorus of talented singers—including Beyoncé herself!—for your first dance song. Although "Up&Up" isn't the most traditional option, the lyrics about growth and transformation beautifully speak to your new chapter as a married couple.

"Us Against The World," Mylo Xyloto

Lyrics you'll love: "Slow it down/Through chaos as it swirls/It's us against the world"

"Us Against The World" is best described as an acoustic love song. It was practically designed for first dances with its breezy melody, romantic metaphors and serene instrumentals. Meanwhile, band member Johnny Buckland's epic guitar riffs make the song a true stand-out.

"The Scientist," A Rush of Blood to the Head

Lyrics you'll love: "You don't know how lovely you are/I had to find you, tell you I need you"

This popular piano ballad features stunning string and guitar instrumentals, as well as beautiful harmonizing. It may not be what some consider a traditional love song, but it makes an incredible first dance track with its slow, relaxed rhythm. Alternatively, ask your band or DJ to play it during cocktail hour or dinner.

"True Love," Ghost Stories

Lyrics you'll love: "The fire would sparkle in your eyes/And mine/So tell me you love me"

"True Love" is—you guessed it—about true love. While the tune is melancholic, the music itself is stunning. We recommend using the instrumental version for cocktail hour or dinner.

"Sparks," Parachutes

Lyrics you'll love: "My heart is yours/It's you that I hold on to"

At first listen, "Sparks" reads like a breakup song. However, if you pay close attention to the lyrics, you'll find that it's actually a super-sweet love song complete with swoon-worthy guitar strumming—making it a great first dance pick.
