Eco-Friendly Wedding Registry Ideas That Make Mother Earth Happy
If you're planning a sustainable wedding, it's important to consider all the ways to make your day even greener. That's why having an eco-friendly wedding registry is a wonderful idea since you can keep the "green" vibes going long past your wedding weekend and into your new life together. You can even start a wedding registry on The Knot and search for eco-friendly or sustainable options for your home, travel needs and so much more. We spoke with Mel Sallese, an eco-friendly expert at Haven 33 Creative, about curating a sustainable registry for your wedding. She had some tips for getting you started: "Encourage regifting or vintage items. Maybe there is a family member who has something really special that they don't use and would love to regift. [There are also] benefits of sustainable items versus single-use: They don't fill up the landfill so quickly [and] certain materials can be harmful to our environment." She also recommends adding a travel fund or new home fund to your registry if you're looking for fewer items for that minimalist lifestyle.
Also, consider wedding donations to eco-friendly causes close to you and your S.O.'s hearts if you don't need any new items after your wedding. We rounded up some sustainable wedding registry gift ideas to help get your list started, so let's take a look at some of the fabulous "green" products you can request to celebrate your wedding day.
