"The weddings we produce generally start at $80,000 for single-day weddings or $150,000 for multi-day events."

She recommends giving each family an allocation of guests and using that as a basis for selecting your venue size, or exploring financial contributions if your families want more room.
Choose Between a One- or Two-Day Celebration
Nigerian weddings also often include both a traditional wedding (engagement or introduction) and a Western ceremony. "If your total budget is under $100,000 and you're willing to streamline your traditional rites to one hour, then a single-day event can work," says Ogunfemi. Otherwise, a two-day wedding gives couples more time to honor all rituals—but with multiple days of festivities comes higher costs.

Nigerian wedding attire is often one of the biggest highlights of a Nigerian wedding, but time can get away from you. "Stick to a max of two outfit changes," says Ogunfemi. "At least one should be easy to get into on your own, so you're not off the dance floor too long."

To keep guests happy and the energy flowing, avoid setting your ceremony time too early. "The ceremony start time [should be] just 30 minutes after the listed time," Ogunfemi adds. That way, guests have time to park and be seated without disrupting the event.
