Here's How Many Wedding Guests Hook Up, According to a New Study
The next wedding you attend might be the best place to find your match. According to The Knot 2016 Real Weddings Study, 19 percent of newlyweds report that some of their guests hooked up during or after their wedding. And it makes sense—when you're gathering your closest friends and family to celebrate your union, chances are your guests will have more than a few things in common. Between a delicious dinner, drinks and dancing, people aren't shy about making moves. Factor in those dreamy floral arrangements and your wedding is as romantic as it gets.
But it's not all about the hookups: 4 percent of married couples report that guests who met at their wedding are now in a committed relationship. From heartfelt toasts at your reception to tearful vows during your ceremony, long-term love is in the air. So if you're single and on the wedding circuit, the odds are in your favor—and if you're planning your wedding, it just might be the beginning of someone else's love story.
