Best Time to Visit Cabo
With a tropical desert climate, you're rarely going to find a chilly day in Cabo. Most honeymooners prefer to visit during late spring (May to June) or late fall (October to November), which is when you'll find the best weather (after the rainy season of August and September has subsided). You can go during the winter, but if you're craving 90-degree temperatures, a crisp 80-degree day might not do it for you.
If you're eager to see humpback whales, then December to April is your best bet. This is when their annual migration draws them to Cabo's mild waters.
Best weather: May and June, October and November.
Festival highlights: The Fiesta de Cabo San Lucas is celebrated mid-October to honor the patron saint of Cabo San Lucas (Saint Lucas) with parades, food and parties.
Cabo Honeymoon Planning Tips
While Cabo may conjure up spring-break vibes for some, this city on the Baja Peninsula has a sophisticated side that's perfect for honeymooners. You'll find an upscale ambiance at many all-inclusive resorts, as well as water and land activities geared toward active couples looking to test their propensity for risk-taking.
You and your new spouse will be in a beach honeymoon destination that blends relaxation and adventure. There really is something for every type of traveler here.
Cabo is also an easy trip from the US, with many major airlines flying directly into San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD). It may be slightly easier for those on the West Coast and throughout the Southwest since they're less likely to have a connection, but even for those traveling from the East Coast, there's typically just one stop en route to Cabo San Lucas.
Keep in mind that not all of the beaches are great for swimming or relaxing. This is why the all-inclusive resorts in Cabo are so fabulous—many have infinity pools overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
You'll also want to consider that it can be quite touristy. It's not going to feel like you're exploring a small Mexican town, because you're not. Much of the economy here is geared toward tourists and English speakers.
Entry requirements: A valid US passport.
Language: Spanish, but English is widely spoken.
Location: Cabo San Lucas is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico.
Currency: The Mexican Peso (MXN).
Flight time to Destination: From Los Angeles, California, you can expect a short 2 to 2.5 hour flight. From New York, flights are typically 5 to 6 hours.
Getting around: Car, taxi, bus, bicycle, by foot.

Things to Do in Cabo for Couples
Whether you spend your time lounging on Cabo's beautiful beaches, indulging in couples' spa treatments or trying out some water activities, you'll find plenty of things to do together. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Relax in Post-Wedding Bliss
We'd be remiss if we didn't put this front and center. After a busy wedding season, you're probably craving a beachfront getaway where you do nothing but order cocktails and sit poolside. Your only activity may be cruising over to the swim-up bar. We won't judge.
Go Whale Watching
If you're feeling adventurous, plan a whale-watching excursion. From mid-December to mid-April, humpback whales migrate through the area. For those who are feeling even more courageous, you can snorkel amongst dozens of whale sharks.
Stroll Along White-Sand Beaches
Lovers Beach, one of Cabo's most famous beaches, may not be swimmable, but it's still an iconic destination with incredible views. Santa Maria and Palmilla Beach are better options for those who want to take a dip in the Pacific Ocean.
Explore San José del Cabo
A colonial downtown city on the Sea of Cortez, San José del Cabo has a main plaza with art, shopping, dining and more. You may be staying at a beach resort, but this town is worth a stop.
Hit the Links
What's a vacation without some time on the green? Take in views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range from the Cabo Real Golf Course or play the renowned Jack Nicklaus-designed ocean course at Cabo del Sol Golf Club.
Go Snorkeling
Dive into the calm waters on the bay side of Cabo and discover the diversity of marine wildlife near Pelican Rock. There are water taxis running all day long to take you to this popular snorkeling area.
Take a Cruise to El Arco
At the area known as Land's End (named for pirates believing it was the last stop before Antarctica), you'll find El Arco. A giant rock formation sweeping out of the water, it's made of limestone that's been chiseled away by water and wind over thousands of years.
Spend a Day at the Spa
After a busy year (or more) of wedding planning, newlyweds deserve at least a day of pampering at a spa. Indulge in a massage or a facial, and let yourself revel in a slower pace of life.
Enjoy the Nightlife
Every night is a fiesta in Cabo. Go out in the city and you'll find a vibrant and rowdy nightlife that makes for a fun evening out on your honeymoon. Saddle up to a beach bar, take a shot of tequila, go dancing or check out live music.
Pro tip: Add Cabo honeymoon experiences to your gift registry so that loved ones can give you one of these fun couples activities. Don't forget to post honeymoon photos to your wedding website and social feed for your guests to see.
What to Pack for a Cabo Honeymoon
Remember: You're at the beach. You only need to pack dressy items to the extent that you feel like dolling up for dinner at the resort.
Your packing checklist should mainly include swimsuits, coverups and lots of sunscreen. Dinners out are mostly casual, so bring your white sundresses and lots of lightweight fabrics in your honeymoon luggage.
