A variety of new types of honeymoons are trending in 2023. In particular, the familymoon (a honeymoon with family) has endured recently among couples who postponed their weddings due to COVID. Whether a baby came first or second marriage is being celebrated, the bottom line is that life stages can come in any order. (Read: there isn't one path that fits all.) As it's common for kids of couples to be present at weddings, the same applies to honeymoons too. As an entire family starts a new chapter together, here are the best destinations for a memorable familymoon.

Aruba

Beyond beaches, beautiful weather and ocean sports (swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, anyone?), there are tons of activities for the whole family. Between visiting The Butterfly Farm and horseback riding, visitors of all ages can go bowling at Palm Beach Dream Bowl. Wind down for the day at Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort, which has ARCADE ARUBA by Wind Creek (beloved by children and teenagers alike), Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino on 15 tropical acres where mom and dad can play slot machines in the casino, or Marriott Aruba's Ocean Club.

Miami, Florida

This isn't your typical Spring Break. Yes, there are beaches and yes, you'll still need to lather on the sunscreen. But, instead of raging into the night, during the day: check out State of Kid stores which host kid classes (like dancing, martial arts, cooking and more) and sells apparel too (just in case you forgot something at home or want a special souvenir!). Admire street art for free in Wynwood with the family, while you walk around, or if you're looking for something walkable and educational, the Miami Seaquarium, Miami Children's Museum and Zoo Miami are top picks. When you're ready to rest and relax, head back to The Palms Hotel & Spa where they offer a family package and kids eat free, to Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, a luxury all-suite beachfront resort that includes access to Carillon Cruisers, allowing families to explore the Miami Beach boardwalk via bike, or the Mandarin Oriental, Miami.

Orlando, Florida

Walt Disney World and theme parks, such as Universal's Islands of Adventure and LEGOLAND, tend to be the main attractions, but Orlando offers even more for families. At Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, you can pose with your favorite celebrities. Pop into The Chocolate Museum & Cafe for your sugar high. And putt at Bonanza Golf, a western-themed mini golf course! For a good night's sleep, stay at Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, with a lagoon-style pool and a three-acre lazy river (not to mention guests enjoy early theme park entry and complimentary transportation to Disney Theme Parks and Disney Springs). There's also Element Orlando Universal Blvd, a pet-friendly property that sits at the base of ICON Park, and ette hotel which is adjacent to Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Aside from partying, Cabo is undoubtedly known for the beach, blue ocean and sunshine. It is also a great place to whale watch with the family! For older children and teens, Wild Canyon is best for off-road ATVs, ziplining, and more adventurous activities. And, for ages 6 and up, return home with a new skill: surfing! Costa Azu offers beginner surfing lessons year-round. In the evening, rest up at Montage Los Cabos which offers guests walk-in access to swimming, snorkeling, and diving in the region and younger guests can pop into Paintbox where activities for little ones include games and arts & crafts. Paradisus Los Cabos also has a kids club (featuring games, science experiments, and crafts) for ages 4+, while teenagers keep busy with water sports, beach games, and movie nights. The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas 1-3 bedroom accommodations are great for families. For Instagrammable photos (or holiday card family photoshoots), The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, is your best bet.

The Riviera Maya, Mexico

Maybe you've enjoyed swimming with dolphins, but how about Whale Sharks? You can enjoy this unforgettable experience with sealife by booking a tour. If you're into pirates, a Captain Hook Pirate Dinner Cruise includes dinner, drinks, games, and more. For those families who enjoy archeology, Xcaret is the day activity for your family, equipt with flamingos, ruins and rivers. A stay at NIZUC Resort & Spa, which offers an onsite kids' club for the little ones while the parents make a trip to the award-winning spa. The entire region is teeming with all-inclusive honeymoon options, such as the new  Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort, which has 12 dining experiences (great for picky eaters) and a splash pool with slides—not to mention a kids' club and teen zone, too. The same applies to its more low-key sister property, The Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya, which focuses more on conservation. At The Westin Resort & Spa, Cancun, families can catch waves on its surf experience.

Tahiti, French Polynesia

In Tahiti, it's ok to go chasing waterfalls, especially if it's Faarumai Waterfalls. Not only is it family-friendly, but it's free. For an underwater adventure, kids ages 5+ (and adults, too) can embark on Helmet Diving where you can walk on the lagoon floor without needing to come up for air! For souvenirs and retail therapy, you'll want to visit (and shop) the Papeete Market which sells artwork and handcrafts in addition to food. For a stay, sleep at St. Regis Bora Bora, which offers activities for kids and parents to discover the Polynesian culture throughout their stay. The Conrad Bora Bora Nui has its Tamariki Kids Club where kids can make flower crowns or learn to tie a pareo (Tahitian romper). At Le Bora Bora, kids eat free from the kids' menu and the resort has activities onsite such as minigolf. The Four Seasons Bora Bora doesn't disappoint, with Tamarii Club, a hub onsite for kids. Families can also take diving or snorkeling lessons together.

Oahu, Hawaii

When the entire family isn't indulging in shaved ice, check out the Bishop Museum (for nature and culture) or the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum (for a dose of aircrafts and history). On the North Shore, watch experienced surfers catch waves and — for older kids— embark on shark cave diving. Attend Germaine's Hawaiian Luau for dinner and a show. During your family's stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, swim, ride an aqua-cycle and try stand-up paddle yoga. Halekulani offers significant savings on second rooms (for the kids) and Kahala Hotel and Resort has a natural lagoon with playful Bottlenose Dolphins that guests can watch.

Los Angeles, California

Vacation in the City of Angels with your new spouse and little angel(s). Hit the beach, book a tour to see houses owned by celebs, and hike the Hollywood sign. Don't forget to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame and see whose handprints match yours. If your family is into rollercoasters, games, carousels and ferris wheels, head to the Santa Monica Pier. For a food-filled afternoon in DTLA, Grand Central Market is your go-to for local vendors. For rooms, Oceana Santa Monica, LXR Hotels & Resorts' one and two bedroom-suites with ocean terraces and kitchens are perfect for families. In DTLA, the Conrad Los Angeles is close to Walt Disney Concert Hall, Grand Park, and The Broad (other great downtown activities) for everyone. Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica has a 'Better Together by the Beach' package that includes a two-hour beach picnic experience and a professional photographer for two hours.

New York City

The Big Apple has it all for families: diners, toy stores and Broadway shows galore. Head to Rockefeller Center for ice skating (or roller skating, depending on the season) before taking a tour of The Empire State building or checking out American Girl or LEGO. In the city that never sleeps, you'll be resting east at the "Little Conrad Suite" at Conrad New York Midtown where the hotel transformed two of its residential style suites into an engaging and fun playground. Across the East River is The William Vale in Brooklyn, which has mini golf or outdoor movies (depending on the season).
