HJ Ranch in Okanogan, Washington

There's a lot of history in this venue, one of the most barn-like in the traditional sense—it's located on an active cattle ranch. HJ Ranch first belonged to owner Nicole Kuchenbuch's great-grandparents and, five generations later, the operation—both cattle and weddings—is still a family affair. The team takes great care of its couples. There is a main house for getting ready, accommodations and a stunning lawn for ceremonies under a salvaged timber arch. But the pièce de résistance of the property is the towering open-air barn.

The 28-foot vaulted ceilings make it feel spacious, and large windows and a retractable garage door let in tons of natural light. The venue hosts just one wedding per weekend, so guests have exclusive use of all the spaces and amenities, from a private dressing suite with a veranda to farm tables and chairs, a ceremony arbor and more. Psst, check out the recently completed Greenhouse—a smaller, all-glass iteration of the Farmhouse—for another unique venue space.
