5 Unique New Jersey Vineyard Venues
Alba Vineyard & Winery
269 Route 627 Village of Finesville, Milford;
(908) 995-7800; AlbaVineyard.com
There's so much to love about this 90-acre vineyard, where you can exchange vows among the grapevines. Founded in 1980, the lush (and sustainable) locale is focused on providing the highest quality wines, from pinot noir to smaller batches of vidal blanc. Have a sip of its homegrown beverage in a tented celebration on the open field with views of Warren Hills. The spot also overlooks thousands of grapes nearby, so your guests can enjoy an authentic, natural day in the Garden State.
Laurita Winery
35 Archertown Road, New Egypt;
(609) 752-0200; LauritaWinery.com
This is not your standard winery. Aside from the 40 acres of grapevines fit for photo ops, Laurita has an on-site indoor ballroom that holds up to 250 guests. Exchange vows in front of the hall's grand brick fireplace, then move just a few steps away for your reception. Large windows on the other end will give you a full view of the vineyard and add natural light to the space. After you dance the night away, you and your guests can stay on-site and grab a room at the Inn at Laurita. This restored farmhouse has five themed rooms and five suites ranging from "Equestrian!" (after the on-site equestrian center) to "America!" Even after your day is over, the hotel's complimentary concierge service will make sure all of your and your guests' needs are met.
Tomasello Winery
225 White Horse Pike, Hammonton;
(800) 666-9463; TomaselloWinery.com
Ripe with more than 80 years of history and 70 acres of vines, Tomasello Winery offers the perfect ceremony spot: a picturesque white pergola settled right in front of the fields. After your "I dos," move your 225 guests to the Crystal Ballroom where they can take in the elegant ambience from below 14-foot ceilings and chic chandeliers. Enjoy a meal made by the on-site culinary staff, and then let loose on the 800-square-foot hardwood dance floor. No need to worry about the wedding favors either. Tomasello Winery can send everyone home with a mini bottle of wine, complete with your personalized label. Since only one event is held here per day, the banquet concierge will make sure everything runs smoothly.
Unionville Vineyards
9 Rocktown Road, Ringoes;
(908) 788-0400; UnionvilleVineyards.com
With a tasting room and winery building that dates back to 1858, this venue is filled with old-world charm. And space isn't an issue. Choose from four reception locations, including its Tasting Room and Cave Room, which is surrounded with antique stone walls and accented by wood barrel tables. Our favorite is the Winery Floor. Exposed, natural wood beams make up the entire framework of the room, giving it that rustic flair we love. Your 60 guests will also have a front seat to the entire wine-making process from their estate table, as the actual vats are just a few steps away. Want to make the most of its natural scenery? Have cocktails on the patio or settle into the 3,200-square-foot tent for an outdoor fete among the acres of land.
Willow Creek Winery
160-168 Stevens St., West Cape May;
(609) 770-8782; WillowCreekWineryCapeMay.com
This winery grows more than just grapes: The manicured gardens feature a life-size chessboard rendered in foliage. Have your ceremony among the thousands of vines, and then gather your guests for a rustic affair in the 12,000-square-foot Grand Tasting Room. Its wood beams and open ceilings are offset by seven-foot crystal chandeliers. About 400 guests can enjoy dinner and dancing before they go outside to chat around the outdoor fire pit. The venue's 15 types of local wines will be served at whatever spot they choose to land. And the best part: The event staff will help you plan all the details in a custom package that includes a horse-drawn carriage ride.
