The Pine Tree Barn in Flushing, Michigan

It doesn't get more idyllic than this: At The Pine Tree Barn, you're quite literally surrounded by Christmas trees. There are 20 acres of them: Pine, birch, oak and maple trees abound and make a stunning backdrop for photos—but inside, things are warm and cozy. The climate-controlled barn is 4,000 square feet with a rustic yet updated vibe. It seats up to 200 for a wedding reception and, with the right decor, checks all the boxes for a Christmas wedding venue.

Guest Capacity: Up to 200

Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan

One drawback of winter weddings is the absence of natural florals—but Planterra Conservatory offers a solution: As a greenhouse, it's lush with greenery and vegetation year-round. For winter weddings, fill the space with an abundance of all-white florals to reflect the snow outside. Among the more unique winter wedding venues in Michigan, this botanical option is also conveniently located just outside Detroit and—bonus—it's totally full-service: Venue bookings come with a planner, in-house floral and design, food, beverage, rentals and even valet.

Guest Capacity: Up to 200

Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club in Clarkston, Michigan

Though Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club dubs itself a "banquet venue," it gives a major upgrade to the term. Forget the patterned carpet and dated details of old: Shepherd's Hollow is a stunningly modern glass house nestled in the forest, with black-and-white checkered floors, and panoramic views of a lake and golf course that look as gorgeous in the winter as they do in the summer. Even in mid-winter, the outdoor fountain area and veranda—warmed by freestanding heaters—are a draw for ceremonies. By the way, the venue's culinary program is top-tier as well; guests are guaranteed a delicious gourmet dinner before the party begins.

Guest Capacity: Up to 325

Zingerman's Cornman Farms in Dexter, Michigan

With a smaller guest count, couples can put more focus and money into specific areas of their big day—be it the food, flowers or accommodations. Of all the small winter wedding venues in Michigan, we love Zingerman's Cornman Farms for the culinary aspect. The venue was founded by a chef whose goal was to bring people together over food, and with weddings, that's quite literally what they do, offering a farm-to-table feast for parties of up to 75 guests. There's a classic red barn, a pretty white farmhouse and other settings for wedding events. Come winter, the 27 acres transform into a snowy wonderland. It's a cozy venue for intimate weddings with an elevated twist and is among our favorite winter wedding venues in southeast Michigan.

Formerly The Black Barn, Westers Family Winery is a rustic winter wedding venue in Michigan with a reception space styled after a classic New England barn. While the details are historic—aged wood, hand-hewn beams and views of a gorgeous four-acre pond, icy in wintertime—a 2016 renovation promises modern amenities. And, with the recent addition of a winery to the property, future couples can purchase wine for their big day; varietals are just beginning to be bottled, and a tasting room is coming soon. Note that guest capacity is lower in the winter months at 150 guests—but, typically, so are prices.

Baker Events in Holland, Michigan

Situated in a former furniture warehouse that is a landmark in quaint Holland, Baker Events is a unique loft-like winter wedding venue in West Michigan. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme, Michigan

A stunning pick for lively summer weddings, Traverse City also has winter charm—and nowhere is it better showcased than at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa (it's no wonder the resort is in The Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame). For winter weddings, couples can choose from four indoor venues of varying guest capacities—the most grand is Governor's Hall, which features 20,000 square feet and 20-foot ceilings—and start with a spa treatment (or two) on the big day. Take snowy portraits around the 900-acre property and celebrate with guests all night long and into the next day: With accommodations on-site, there's no need for travel between venues.

Guest Capacity: 75-2,000

Solarium by Watermark Brewing Co. in Stevensville, Michigan

Solarium by Watermark Brewing Co. is truly the whole package, with everything you need on-site: There's an outdoor garden ceremony space, cozy dressing rooms for the to-be-weds, and an 8,500-square-foot industrial-chic reception space. But it's the unique bar packages that are the biggest draw: A beverage consultation is included in the rental cost, and couples can customize their bar to include various on-tap and seasonal beers (might we suggest a Christmas ale for winter weddings?) Outside planners are allowed, but Solarium also partners with 1928 Planning for couples looking for a coordinator who knows the space inside and out.

Guest Capacity: Up to 225

Grand Rapids Downtown Market in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Grand Rapids Downtown Market is one of the winter wedding venues in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that offers the best of both worlds: It's a clear-topped, greenhouse-like space that allows you to experience the beauty of the snow outside—but from the warmth of the indoors. (A separate venue on-site, the elegant banquet room, offers an alternate view of the downtown cityscape.) Couples will work with a dedicated venue coordinator to fully customize the wedding of their dreams, including a menu from one of the venue's exclusive catering partners, a cocktail reception in the botanical garden room, rentals included in the venue cost and more.

Guest Capacity: Up to 180

Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, Michigan

If you're going to have a winter wedding, why not go all in? Head to the tip top of the mitten for a mountain wedding at Boyne Mountain Resort, one of the most picturesque winter wedding venues in northern Michigan. A variety of indoor and outdoor spaces make it an ideal venue for celebrations year-round, with the Vienna and Matterhorn ballrooms being our pick for winter (the latter accommodates up to 500 guests). There are countless accommodation options for a weekend-long wedding; guests can ski and snowboard on the days surrounding the wedding (or play golf during summer weddings)—and you and your spouse can complete the pretty picture with a chairlift wedding portrait.

Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth, Michigan

With a slew of The Knot's Best of Weddings Awards and a place in our Hall of Fame, Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center is a must-include on our list of not just any venues but outdoor winter wedding venues in Michigan. Say "I do" on the golf course, then step inside one of two stunning reception venues: The Golden Fox offers pretty views of the landscape and accommodates up to 350 guests, while the Fox Classic has a rustic log-cabin feel and warming fireplaces for parties of up to 175. There are a host of incentives and discounted rates for off-season weddings, too; just note that wedding bookings are not typically available in December.

The Ballroom at McKay in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The white walls, grand columns and sparkling chandeliers give off elegant holiday vibes at The Ballroom at McKay, a winter wedding venue in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with stellar reviews on The Knot's Vendor Marketplace. Its 11,000 square feet can host both ceremony and reception, and the space is rich with history and luxe details like classic marble finishes. We love this venue for a timeless wedding vibe or bedecked in red and green florals and decor for a stunning Christmastime affair.

Guest Capacity: Up to 200

Bay Pointe Inn in Shelbyville, Michigan

Bay Pointe Inn sits on scenic Gun Lake, and summer ceremonies can be set against the water—but it's just as beautiful for winter weddings. The Woods Ballroom is expansive but feels cozy, with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace creating a warm atmosphere. Its wraparound porch is a pretty covered escape for guests to take a breath of crisp fresh air and watch the snow fall. There are a variety of customizable wedding packages at this winter wedding venue in Michigan including an on-site culinary team that can tackle any menu request, and a dedicated events team to handle setup and breakdown. And with lodging on-site, it's an all-encompassing wedding weekend venue, too.
