A barn wedding in Maine, though is all the more memorable thanks to the easternmost state's plethora of stunning natural scenery, from mountains to lakes to the ocean. And while, yes, you're probably going to get some snowy weather if you host your wedding there in the winter months, several of the barn wedding venues in Maine do operate year-round, and falling flakes only add even more enchantment to the cozy New England setting. Autumn Lane Estate in Sebago, Maine

Set on a 20 acre property on Sebago Lake, this barn wedding venue in Maine was recently constructed and offers an open floor plan, high ceilings and a stone courtyard, perfect for cocktail hour. Host your ceremony in the wedding field with the lake or rolling hills as your backdrop. At Autumn Lane, there's also a couple's cottage on premises so you can stay the weekend in your own serene and romantic accommodations, as well as an Estate House which can sleep up to 14 guests, and 10 luxury cabins for up to 45 guests—talk about a fun and inclusive wedding weekend! Says one recent bride: "The views are amazing and the on site accommodations were so comfortable and well done, it was hard for us to leave at the end of the weekend."

The Barn at Flanagan Farm in Buxton, Maine

The Barn at Flanagan Farm, located about 25 minutes from Portland, is actually comprised of not one, but two barns on 66 acres. First there's the 2,400-square-foot main barn: a two and a half story space with a vaulted ceiling. Nearby there's also the Cocktail Barn, which is a 900-square-foot space built in 2015 and perched upon a six-acre pasture. Flanagan farm also features a bluestone patio perfect for cocktail hour, and a wooded area that makes for a peaceful ceremony site. The family-owned venue allows guests use of the entire property for the weekend, and provides overnight accommodations in its stunningly renovated farmhouse for up to twelve guests. The venue also donates a portion of the profits from every wedding to Maine-based organizations.

The Barn on Walnut Hill in North Yarmouth, Maine

The Barn on Walnut Hill is owned and operated by the same couple that owns Flanagan Farm but this venue is set on a four-acre estate located further northeast and open May through November. The property features a restored 19th century barn with an original rooftop cupola and hand-wrought chandeliers, as well as a neighboring granite patio that can be tented and is accessible through French doors. As for an outdoor ceremony, couples can tie the knot in a tree-encircled ceremony area out on the lush grounds. The venue also has a 3,000 square foot farmhouse with five elegant bedrooms for overnight guests, as well as a pickle ball court.

Bear Mountain Inn + Barn in Waterford, Maine

Southern Maine's Bear Mountain Inn + Barn is located on 25 acres on the shores of Bear Pond near the White Mountains. Hold your ceremony on the property's patio, dock or lawn, and then head into the 1850 barn for a reception with up to 150 guests. The venue can also host tented waterfront outdoor weddings from May through November or smaller indoor affairs during the winter. Beech Hill Barn in Pittston, Maine

Beech Hill Barn is all about elegant rustic style with a post-and-beam horse barn turned into an event space at the heart of it all. The shingled barn features chandeliers, string lights and wood floors for your reception. The property also includes a stone patio for cocktail hour, a field to play lawn games on or as a spot to put up a tent, as well as the Oak Grove, a grassy area with mountain views and a timber-frame arbor. Lastly, the venue's Country House and 1832 Farmhouse offer overnight accommodations for 24 guests plus a private outdoor swimming pool.

Beech Ridge Barn in Scarborough, Maine

Beech Ridge Barn sits on 25 acres with lush greenery, apple trees and gardens. Though it's been restored, the large, 1800s barn retains its original allure with high ceilings, abundant windows and a gray shingled exterior. Just outside the barn is a porch that looks out over the landscape and that would make for an ideal cocktail hour setting. Nearby, a patio that can be dressed up with benches and a natural wood arbor is a popular ceremony site. Beech Ridge Barn also has a farmhouse and guesthouse on site, each with five bedrooms and available to rent from Wednesday to Monday of your wedding week.

Caswell Farm & Wedding Barn in Gray, Maine

This three-generation, family-owned spot spans more than 50 acres and has everything you'd want from a Maine barn wedding venue. Get ready in Caswell Farm's 300-year-old farmhouse before hosting your ceremony in front of a handmade birch arbor on the lawn or on the patio in the flower garden. After, enjoy dinner under a tent on the grass and dancing inside the 1800s barn. Owner Catherine Caswell also owns a mobile bar tending company called the Bar Association, so you can be sure the sips at your soiree will be in good hands. At the end of the night, guests can enjoy roasting s'mores by the bonfire and even camping in their own tents on site.

Cunningham Farm in New Gloucester, Maine

Cunningham Farm boasts not just one, but three stunning barn venues on more than 90 acres of land that also encompasses a farmhouse, a pond, river, rock walls and a tree farm. The largest barn on the site is the Dairy Barn, an 1820 structure spanning 2,880 square feet making it perfect for dinner and dancing. There's also the 1800-square-foot Hay Barn that would work for a wedding reception, cocktail hour or ceremony as well as the 600-square-foot Carriage Barn which couples often use as a lounge area or a space to set up a photo booth or dessert station. In addition to the barns, a grassy spot by the pond works well for a ceremony as does anywhere within the 12 acres of fields on the property, and a tent can also be set up there for a reception.

Grace on the Lake in Harmony, Maine

Want your wedding celebration to last the entire weekend? Grace on the Lake is a family-owned barn wedding venue on Great Moose Lake that provides onsite accommodations for your guests for a fun-filled three-day party. The venue also offers 100 acres of green lawns, 4,500 square feet of waterfront space and two (yes, two!) private islands on the lake. Granite Ridge Estate & Barn in Norway, Maine

Granite Ridge Estate & Barn's vast 200 acres offer mountain backdrops and several stunning indoor and outdoor wedding venues. The star of the show is the property's 3,500-square-foot timber frame barn which has 28-foot cathedral ceilings, shimmering chandeliers, a side patio and lofty windows with views of the surrounding landscape. Hardy Farm in Fryeburg, Maine

If your vision of a barn wedding also includes saying "I do" in the woods, Hardy Farm, established in 1750 in Maine's White Mountains, is the place for you. Hold your ceremony at the Woodland Chapel, a tree-enclosed outdoor space with hemlock benches and a log pergola. For your reception, dine under a sailcloth tent accessed via a wooden footbridge and dance the night away in the 1835 wedding barn with white-washed wood walls, twin staircases and chandeliers. The property also features grassy areas for lawn games, flower gardens for photos and both a lodge and farmhouse where the wedding party can get ready and stay overnight.

Marianmade Farm in Wiscasset, Maine

This mid-coast Maine locale might be a working flower and lavender farm, but Marianmade Farm dazzles as a wedding venue too. The barn venue is located on Sheepscot River and features acres of flower beds buzzing with bumble bees, a verdant waterfront ceremony spot and a timber frame lavender drying barn with towering ceilings and iron chandeliers. William Allen Farm in Pownal, Maine

When it comes to a classic New England barn wedding venue, William Allen Farm fits the bill with its 200-year-old red clapboard barn with high ceilings and original beams. The farm is owned by a husband and wife and is located six miles from Freeport (the home of L.L.Bean). Its 63 acres encompass woods, fields, stone walls and gardens. The large, verdant lawn is also the perfect place for your ceremony in front of a log arbor by the pond. You can also prop up a tent there for your ceremony, cocktail hour or reception.
