For example, those with fewer than 50 guests spent an average of $330, while those with over 100 guests averaged $560. Location also plays a significant role in spending; couples hosting hometown weddings spent around $440 on favors and gifts, while domestic destination weddings averaged $600 and international celebrations reached $750. Ultimately, how much you spend on wedding guest gifts is personal and should reflect both your budget and your vision. Since favors aren't a requirement, focus on choices that truly add value to the experience rather than just filling a tradition.
When is the best time to buy wedding favors?
The Knot Editors recommend planning your favors and welcome bags about two months before the wedding. This is the ideal time to decide what you'll be giving and to start the purchasing process, especially since customized items or bulk orders often require extra lead time for production and shipping.
